I'm going to be an Aunt!

My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a new bundle of joy in late September! I am beyond excited for them and so happy that God has blessed them with an amazing thing. When I first found out, I was excited for a number of reasons; first grandchild for my parents, first niece or nephew for my sister and I; newest baby in the family overall. But, I am a little disappointed because I won't be around to spoil him or her. Ideally, Mike and I would like to move to California but we didn't expect it to be for another couple years or so. This event puts everything in perspective; family is so important. You want to be close to them to witness the special moments.

Mike says that I'm a lot more family oriented than he is, I never saw it that way. But now I do. I don't think I appreciated my family until I moved out East. I am glad he is standing up for me and knowing that I want to be close with his family. It is a process and hopefully we will get there someday.

Abnormally happy

I'm abnormal or maybe I'm not. I never thought that negativity would get me through life; so I tried not to be even what I just wanted to say eff it. Last week, I had my moments but for the most part, I was trying to remain happy and remember the blessings I have in life. I have a lot of things that can bring me down but I try to surround myself with positivity so that it won't happen. Case and point, a photo from this weekend. I just spent more than 3 hours in church and it was late into the night. These are some weird faces we were making while celebrating Mike's First Communion and Confirmation. I wish we had more people to celebrate with us but you know how that is. It's late, it's too far uptown, etc. Either way, I was happy and in a good mood. Happy for Mike, Happy for friends that I am growing closer to, Happy that I have a place to go where everyone knows your name, etc. I am abnormally happy.

Third Time is a......

We have been having a bit of an issue with this new apartment (as you know, see below) and I don't know if it has to do with being too anxious or the fact that this landlord has an issue.  HAVE YOU EVER SEEN AN APARTMENT THAT LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE MOVED OUT IN THE MORNING? Now today, we will back to the apartment to hopefully see some great progress and sign the lease for May 1. This has been a stressful time for Mike and I. Luckily the wedding is far off, otherwise, I don't know what I would do.

I want to have a housewarming party. I want to decorate. I want to organize my closet. I want to cook dinner for guests. I want to do all of this and can't proceed until we have a new apartment. A new place to call home.

Rough April

You might think that my reasoning for having a rough April is silly but, most people don't know how it is living in limbo. We originally gave our landlord notice we were moving out on April 1. Had to move that to April 15. Now we are not even sure when we are going to move to a new apartment. We thought it was a guarantee. We went to sign the lease last night and the apartment was absurd.

Either way, boxes are packed, dishes are packed... and we have limited availability to clothes right now. This is causing so much stress and we are lucky that the wedding is not nearby.

We love the neighborhood, but, Michael can't see us moving  in there because there are so many issues at this point. We are hoping it ALL works out. We are hoping to have a new home very soon.

It's been rough.

Just because we live in the Bronx...

...home of the Yankees, doesn't mean we have to be Yankees fans. I hear this all the time - "How can you be a Mets fan in the Bronx?" You wanna know why? I'm not an asshole like you. LOL! Sorry, but, that is just the dumbest statement/question whatever you wanna call it. Being in a borough does not make you a fan of the borough team by default. I am loyal to the Mets, especially their fans, they aren't assholes.

So baseball season is upon us and I am already enjoying it. Mike and I will be heading out to Citi Field this Saturday to take on some ball and put back some Big Apple Brews. We always have a good time there; make the most of it despite the outcome of the game. I am so happy this game is on the weekend, because it means we can sleep a bit more. We have been going to weekday games usually in the past and it doesn't work well with our morning routines. Anyway, I'll provide my recap of the Citi Field experience for 2011 after this weekend's game.

My Etsy Shop Got a Facelift!

My Etsy Shop

I was previously using my own personal account to have the shop in. I disabled that shop and now I have this up. This is just a start to what I have in mind for this little side graphic design venture. I have been busy with making designs for my shop and coming up with new ideas for designs. I am catering now to brides to be and newly engaged couples, but, hopefully this will flourish into something new.

As you notice, I have not been posting on the regular like I had been in February but Mike and I were really busy with looking for an apartment, setting up this shop and getting busier at work so that's why I have neglected my pepperhead space. I am volunteering my time at church to be a lector and extraordinary minister (I thought they were called eucharistic minister).

So needless to say, I have been very busy. April should be a better month though. Etsy shop up so spread the word. Working on some football stuff for the draft on April 28. New apartment by the end of the month. AND 6 months until we are married!

Hope all is well and remember it's Friday, Friday!
